From Father Raymond J. de Souza, a response to the New York Times.
The story is false. It is unsupported by its own documentation. Indeed, it gives every indication of being part of a coordinated campaign against Pope Benedict, rather than responsible journalism.
What an excellent piece of truthful and dignified writing !
If the N.Y times crowd has any sense of honor , they would publish this a few times as penance , in full page ; this could be a partial measure to avoid what God's word warns as consequences for calumny in Psalm 109 -' May his children be fatherless ,his wife a widow .
May his children be vagrant beggars ..
May his posterity be destroyed ..'
Mercy, Lord !
