Virginia Senate Approves Red Light Camera Bills

You haven't known anger until you've gotten a ticket from one of these things that says you were in the intersection .09 seconds after the light turned red.

I hear they can read your blood-alcohol count, too.

While I don't remember where I read it, I recently read that the red light cameras have no effect on accident rates. The big difference is changing from being hit from the side, to rear ends. (by someone stopping very fast to avoid being in the intersection.) The article also pointed out that some of the placements were chosen not because of the accident potential, but fine potential, ie short yellow lights etc.
