I thought the Left was against suppressing speech, destroying "hateful" literature, and intimidating one's opponents. Maybe they should adopt a new slogan: "We're offering yesterday's ideas in a new, fascist-style package!"
Ah, yes. Once again, it only goes to show what our (mostly liberal) media chooses to report on. Where are the stories about all of the school children who are raising money to send snacks/movies to the troops? Where are the stories about the heartfelt reception that some soldiers have received in Iraq?? Usually they aren't headlined, but buried on page 4. (And if they DO want to protest, whatever happened to peaceful demonstration of civil rights??)
Actually, the Left abandoned communism with the fall of the Soviet Empire and have indeed embraced fascism through the mediation of Heidegger, de Mann, Deridda, Pound, etc.
They're rooting for the fascists in the Middle East, too. They will make excuses for anyone who fights the USA.
Some much for supporting the troops despite the policy.
Tony, don't you dare question the patriotism of those "protestors"! Just because they shout down, insult, and physically threaten someone wearing the uniform of their country while he's performing his official duties doesn't mean they're against the troops!
