If the likes of the Democratic Underground denizens are to be believed, Bush is going to either declare martial law or wipe out all life on earth with nukes and/or carbon monoxide; or both. So not to worry: We'll all be dead, or Bush'll be the next Franco, long before Christians will be considered mentally ill.
There -have- been trial balloons floated by major powers in the DNC (Reich, Kennedy and a national convention speaker who's name escapes) about what to do about the "Christian Problem". Kennedy seems to favor GitMo. Reich seems to favor more Sangerian Direct Action. The author of a current DNC book divides the country into "metro-Americans" and "retro-Americans", and concludes that the 'retros' must be converted or contained, or otherwise eliminated.
