I mean there would have been more space battles and stuff like that. I don't get out much.

Nah, the Prime Directive - that wonderful relic of the swinging 60's with it's live-and-let-live philosophy endued Star Trek with that same groovy optimism about other life forms that was the hallmark of the guitar Mass, free love, Laugh-in era. Star Trek is what the Summer of Love would have led to had reality, humanity and original sin not existed. It's no accident that Star Fleet's headquarters was in San Francisco.

Plus, eminent domain theory would have led to killing Seven of Nine before she ever had a chance to put on a tight, form-fitting starfleet unitard, which would have been a very, very bad thing.
