Our Lady of Mount Carmel

O Beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a pure virgin, assist us in our necessity! O Star of the Sea, help and protect us! Show us that you are our Mother!

John was hoping today was Our Lady of Mount Carvel. Alas, is it not.

COOKIE PUSS! COOKIE PUSS! COOKIE PUSS!

That used to be a nickname of mine -- I miss Carvel since moving to the DC area. There is a former Carvel in Merrifield that is now known as "Sue's Ice Cream" or something but apparently still serves Carvel products de-labeled. However on my last visit it looked like the character cakes were gone. Are there any Carvels left in NoVa that we don't know about?

Looks like you can buy things Carvel all over!

There used to be Carvels around the D.C. area, and I see the ice cream cakes in my local Safeway. I never went to one of the stores, but I do remember an old guy doing the low-budget commercials when I was a kid, and keenly interested in ice cream.

What? Who?
