To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental. To describe it as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of "dissenting" bravery.

Hitchens critique of Moore and his "documentary" is devastating. It won't keep Moore from laughing all the way to the bank with this dreck, coming soon to a theatre near you.

Dude, where's the link??

Sorry....

Yes, a $10 million campaign commercial that you have to pay $9 to see.

my hairdresser told me this weekend that she saw Moore on Today with Matt Lauer. She didn't really hear of him before, but based on the interview really wanted to see the movie. She said something like it's about time we heard the true story -- since the news probably hides half the truth.

Needless to say - I almost strangled her. Instead, took a deep breath and did my best to explain who Moore was, why he hates America and how she can tell the difference between hatred spewed and reasonable truth.

She really didn't care, she thinks she'll Bush is bad and Moore will probably uncover more badness. She also thinks Kerry just seems so sincere and wanting to help others while all Bush wants to do is go to war.

She'll be voting this year - wonder how many others like her there are out there.

Hitchens is better known for his blasting of mother Teresa in the book The Missionary Position.
A couple years ago, in an interview with Judith Regan, he talked about his mother's suicide when he was a teenager, and how it affected him.
So I always say a prayer to Mother Teresa and Our Lady of Medjugorje (who he has also blasted in articles) to cure his pain and bitterness.

Definitely causing a stir. It always amazes me how quick a group of people (in this case Republicans) are to deny everything in an effort to never be wrong. Michael portrays ancient lies, old lies, and even new lies from the Bush administration. How many people have to die before the general public realizes that it isn't an actor stating in Fahrenheit 911 that yes they know where the weapons of mass destruction are without shadow of a doubt. You should check out the rumour now that Google is manipulating rankings to push down public momentum. http://www.michael-moore-review.com.
