"Air America" going up in smoke?

Via Drudge:

After just two weeks on the air, Air America Radio, the fledgling liberal talk-radio network featuring Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo, appears to have encountered serious cash-flow problems.

The CHICAGO TRIBUNE is developing a story, insiders tell DRUDGE, on how the network was pulled off the air this morning in Chicago and Los Angeles, the network's second- and third-largest markets, because, the owner of both stations said, the network bounced a check and owes him more than $1 million! A charge the network strongly denies...

It wouldn't surprise me if Air America fell flat on its face eventually.

I don't trust the Drudge Report on anything, however. He has time and time again published stories that have not had factual evidence to back them up, have been outright lies, or usually have 'unamed sources' which is always suspicious. Drudge has an axe to grind with many people, and is living off of his laurels from a few years back...his news reporting is more political agenda than anything,; and that is fine, except that means that you cannot put credence into his stories like you can a media outlets.

Let's not forget about the infamous 'Kerry affair' a few months back...all of a sudden his story fell into the background, and no media outlet (not even conservative outlets) would touch the story (except Rush Limbaugh.).

Drudge has a history of springing stories and then withdrawing them for lack of proof or evidence. This story may be true, but my guess is six months from now, if you look back at this day, you might find otherwise.

John, Drudge has been right about just about everything he's posted. The Kerry affair story was *not* that the affair occurred, it was that news organizations were *investigating* an alleged affair -- and that was a fact.

Bloomberg has a filing on it now.

More than just Drudge are reporting it. It's a legit story.

And again, like I said, it may be a legit story....I just wait for confirmation from a legitimate news media outlet...anyone, from Foxnews, to CNN, MSNBC, a network, Bloomberg, any media outlet with major credibility and not as heavy of a political leaning and axe to grind. At least I know that CNN's slant will be a bit liberal, but will report the truth, as well as Fox News will be more conservative, but truthful.

There is news with a slant and then there is political axe grinding.

I just like that this post is the one immediately following the post titled:

"Sing a song of apocalyptic triumph"

Most often, the more outrageous, the more popular the show. Rush, Savage Nation, etc. have a vast listenership because most of us common people love to hear outrageous things delivered with righteous passion. Why are certain news outlets not drawing followers, and yet the same "news" as delivered by Rush is so riveting? Could it be that he has embellished the news, pursued questionable stories more worthy of the National Enquirer, delivered mistruths in his malicious spin? wow. Now I know why Howard Stern was so popular. So what if it's not the real truth and it's immoral! I'm switching from boring AirAmerica!

What? Who?
