I'm surprised it wasn't in the religion or politics sections... Come to think of it, most stories about religion end up in Oddly Enough...
I read sometime in the last week that the Anglican communion could be on the verge of schism (yes, AGAIN) over same-sex marriage in Canada. Apparently the Anglican bishops in Canada are deciding whether or not to officially sanction gay marriage. Anyone know what's going on with that?
I personally doubt it will come to anything. Being in the Anglican community has long meant either tolerating or engaging in all kinds of apostasy.
And who gets to wear the funny hat?
Speaking of Anglicans, CNN's Kyra Phillips interviewed Desmond Tutu a few minutes ago. He said something idiotic like "God is too big for the truth about Him to be contained in just one religion" or something to that effect.
Tutu must think God is a cosmic schizo or liar then since the claims of the religions of the world are widely in conflict with each other.
I'm wary of any comment that includes "God" and "big" in the same sentence.

Ecru is always appropriate for second marriages of Episcopal clergy -- as anyone who's hung around them would know, since they go through so many of them.
If Ecru is the color of choice for second marriages among Episcopalian clergy, what's the preference for subsequent marriages? Then again, doesn't the "alternative" nature of this second marriage suggest the use of rainbow-flag colors or pink triangles?
Pray for me. I live in New Hampshire, and my husband works in the news media. One of my daughter's best friends is an Anglican who is constantly trying to defend 'her bishop' against the commentary of the other 10th graders in their group (most of whom are practicing Catholics and are in Confirmation class with my daughter).
I know: the dress should be royal purple to represent the office of Bishop (which Vicky supposedly holds) adorned with pink triangles and a rainbow-colored purse. Perfecto!
