Words I wasn't expecting to hear today

"Would you like the senior discount?"

No, Miss, it's a little early for that.

Heavens. Either the 55-and-up set is looking good these days, or I'm really decrepit for 45.

Ouch! That commment is a milestone I'm NOT looking forward to passing. :)

You don't look at day over 44, RC !

I can relate - but both ways. I tend to look pretty disheveled when working on weekend projects. With gray hair and acne, it's hard to guess my age.

A few years ago (bad acne day), I was asked for ID for purchasing beer.

A few months ago (hair pulled back showing a lot of gray - good acne day) with little sleep under me all week, I went to a mall and took a survey (I'm usually good at avoiding them, but my defenses were down).

The person taking the survey automatically marked my age between 45-55. I corrected her.

I'm 38.

I'm 32 and I still get carded at bars. Life is goooooooooooood. :-)

I'll turn 40 on the next feast of St. John the Evangelist. Yesterday at the Bronco game I got carded TWICE by the same fellow. My hair is mostly gray and white, as is my beard. Oy.

RC

Used to be that gray hair and a wrinkle here and there was a sign of wisdom, experience, and one due a certain respect. Nowadays, it's only good for a discount at the movies.

I miss the old days.

What? Who?
