Overheard

This appeared on a message board for elementary general music teachers:

[...]I am hoping people can help me to locate some songs about the following:

[...]

Costume Holidays (Halloween, although more about dressing up than ghosts and goblins, Mardi Gras - I'd love a song related to that!)

[How about the De Profundis?]

Independance Days (anything other than American)

[Of course.]

[...]

Feasts (Thanksgiving, Ramadan/Eid – I can’t find Ramadan music anywhere!)

[There’s a reason for that.]

What would a Ramadan song for elementary school be _like_?

"It's Ramadan already
So breakfast will be late.
'Cause I can't sup till the moon comes up
And we break our fast with dates.

It's Ramadan already.
Don't remind me I can't munch
With a stupid song that gets the facts all wrong.
Wonder how I'll last through lunch?"

Yes! Now come up with one for Tet...

Hello, If you still need a song about Ramadan or Eid, I can help you. Email me Please. Happy Halloween!

What? Who?

On life and living in communion with the Catholic Church.
