Okay - why did it take we create a sculpture inspired by our country and not the people of Iraq - that's freedom for you. Already they are being inpsired by our country. Can't someone culture remain uninvolved with ours. Are we that Ethnocentric?
Personally, I think it looks like a battle droid from a Star Wars movie, but then again, I am no art critic.
The crescent moon on top is an Islamic symbol, so at least that much is all theirs.
Why is it so green?
Don't know, but they appear to have replaced Saddam with Commander Zurg from Toy Story 2. An ill portent for democracy's flowering?
