St. Blase yesterday

Teresa and I got home around 4pm, unpacked and she went down to the office. I went to the grocery store to get important provisions like chicken wings - wife.com was going to make me wings "from scratch." We didn't get a chance to eat before Mass at 7:30pm at our parish.

Mass was packed - I think the blessing of the throats is a big deal for many people. I kept thinking the priest would need the intercession of St. Blase after saying the blessing 100+ times.

I went thru RCIA in 1999. In 1994, my brother Don, was diagnosed with throat cancer. While in the RCIA, one of our readings was about St. Blase. I found out that February 3rd is his Feast Day. While thinking about my brother, and thinking about the date of his surgery (February 8th, 1994), I backtracked in my mind and realized that his biopsy was on February 3rd! That has brought about a lot of peace with me. I feel that St. Blase guided my brother through his ordel and brought me to the RCIA. Ten years later, my brother is alive and well. A true miracle. Please pray for him. Thank you. Sharron.
