Good times in Philly

CL co-founder Steve Schultz and I had a good time today attending a symposium at his seminary in Philadelphia. The moral teaching of Pope John Paul was the theme, and it's fair to say the highlight...

... was hearing Abp. (and Cardinal-designate) George Pell speak on human dignity and human rights in Catholic moral thought. He presented an intriguing argument that the concept of "primacy of conscience" is flawed and should be discarded: that it is ill-defined and often a cloak for subjectivism. He said later in informal talk that to his knowledge, it isn't used in official Church teaching.

What? Who?

On life and living in communion with the Catholic Church.
