What’s the fuss?

I’m going to eat it. So… don’t worry yourself with using “only eggs from hens that have lived cage-free; veal from roaming calves; and lobsters that have been removed from their ocean traps quickly to avoid crowded holding tanks.” Whole thing here.
It’s food – not family.

  1. I stopped eating veal awhile back because of the way calves are bled slowly to improve the tenderness, and I am an unrepentant meat-eater from way back. I also used to feed my grandpop’s chickens whenever we’d go visit him when I was a kid. He lived in the city but like many Italian immigrants had a chicken house, a vineyard and a vegetable garden on the grounds. I don’t see why caging chickens nearly immobile for mass production is an improvement over the way my grandpop kept his chickens. Just because we have dominion over the animals doesn’t mean we should treat them badly.
