Pope Benedict should not be viewed as a spokesman for the West, which is the case in many Muslims’ minds.
The Church may choose a combative stance Vs. Islam, but the impact on Westen Civilization’s opportunity to coexist with Islam should not be impacted by Pope Benedict’s stance.
