The Syro-Malankara diocese of Trivandrum is reporting a unusual Eucharistic manifestation in May 2001: markings appeared on a consecrated Host in the form of a face. The bishop writes:
…if we cannot find any human means active in the event, it would be reasonable and wise to believe that Our Lord has given us a special sacramental sign through a special intervention.
For us believers what we have seen is something, which we always believed. Our real attention should now be focused on the question why Our Lord gives us this unique and extraordinary sign. We must prayerfully reflect on the meaning of this sacred symbol. If Our Lord is speaking to us by giving us a sign, it certainly needs a response from us.

There are a few different things to say. If this is true, it is remarkable. Why would the Lord give this sign? Testing of the blessed host may constitute a sacrilege, inasmuch as such testing may constitute an indignity to the body of Christ.
However, if the Lord has not done this, and someone marked the blessed host, such actions would most certainly constitute a sacrilege.
I’m not sure what to think or do! I’m certainly glad I’m not part of the decision-making process…
There’s already a precedent. The famous Eucharistic species at Lanciano (Italy), miraculously changed into flesh and blood some 900-1000 years ago, have been subjected to a scientific test to confirm that the flesh and blood are human.
OK, I’m going to come right out and say it: I think it’s mold. That’s why I want to see a recent picture. Mold has a tendency to grow over time, you know. What’s that host looking like two years hence? I’d like to believe it’s the real deal, but I don’t think I can. Sorry.
I always believe in miracles but stories like these should be taken with caution. It may be a destruction of the local church and it could be a divine way of making the church known locally and to the world. But in a country who has catholics as minorities, I think it must be supported by science. Kindly consider all possible reasons and look into that. If it is true, God will always make ways amazingly.
I have no doubt in the miracles in the catholic faith only when science can’t explain it anymore. Hence the truthfulness of such miracle is beyond doubt for science has ended its explanation.
