For all those who wonder just how geeky I really am (name one other northerner who would set up his indoor firing range next to his computer so that he can target practice while writing articles about canon law), please check out EWTN Bookmark this week. Doug Keck and and I will be discussing Surprised by Canon Law.

Saw the show – you’re definitely not a geek. I wish the show went a little longer. I’d like to ask a question please. I will be returning to the Catholic Church after almost 25 years as an Old Catholic Priest and Bishop in the Apostolic Succession (valid but illicit). I feel it is a call of the Divine Mercy that I do so. I cannot explain it any other way. The Chancellor of the Diocese and the Bishop and I have met. I will be making my general confession this week. I have a question concerning the disposition of my Holy Orders since I will be returning as a layman? With the indelible character of the sacrament of Holy Orders, the term layman is technically incorrect. In emergencies, I am able to and actually required to administer the sacraments. Some Old Catholic clerics, on return to Rome, are ‘regularized.’ If I choose to return in a lay status, is that okay. I am concerned over the eternal consequences if any or will confession take care of that? Thanks. Gotta get your book.
Got out of bed at 6:30 to see you this morning, Pete – great job!! Keep it up.
Thanks for your kind comments Larry and Rebecca. They are appreciated! Larry, with regards to your situation, I will email you privately.
I’m assuming this interview will be repeated at the Wednesday 530PM time slot, on the 16th, (no “new” show intervenes … the next premiere is the 20th, the EWTN page seems to say).
Pete,
Do you really have an indoor firing range next to your computer? My shooting sports kids are going to go nuts when I tell them. My 13-yr-old dd’s blog has the header ‘Girls with guns have more fun.’ This is my daughter who wants to be a nun and a missionary to China. Too funny! PS I think redneck, not geek, describes a guy who shoots while working at the pc. Well, at least if you lived a little farther south.
Does Her Majesty’s Canadian Government of Bandits, Crooks, Hoodlums, Apostate Catholics, Abortion Fanatics, and Gun-Haters know about this shooting range? How is it that they have not descended on your place and confiscated your weaponry after having spent 1 billion dollars on a “gun registry” to keep track of such things? Is outrage!
Dear Maureen and Adam,
My indoor shooting range is completely in accordance with the law since I only use airguns that have a velocity under 500 fps.
