Irslattery provides some instruction regarding miracles. Questions with answers: What are miracles? Can men work miracles? Can miracles be worked by the relics of saints, pictures, etc.? Why are there not so many miracles in our times as there were …
I rooted for Boston in the ALCS last year and world series and like them as a team but my first love are the O’s.
Way to go O’s.
But yes, I too, like seeing the NYY in the cellar. Now for Steinbrenner’s pony in the Derby to lose and lose badly too. mwa ha ha ha ha.
Should anyone wish to take a little perverse pleasure in the misfortunes of others, they might enjoy pondering the plight of us Pittsburgh Pirate fans.
If the Yankees went 0-162, I’d still want to see them in the playoffs, just so they could lose more games.
If the Yankees were playing the Al Qaeda All-Stars, I’d be pulling out the Osama bin Laden (PBUH) posters.
And it has nothing to do with being a Red Sox fan, but merely a decent human being who knows the Natural Law written on all men’s hearts is to despise all intrinsic evils, such as the New York Yankees.
So I guess the direct answer is that … no, their merely being in last place is not enough.
It is too late for me to save you. This thread has already spiraled down to the basement of hell.
If only you had repented before the day of your everlasting sorrow had arrived. Woe unto you! Ye are desolate. I mourn the loss of your souls.
Nevertheless I share a Psalm with you, that may comfort you in this day of tribulation:
1 Derek Jeter is my hero; I shall not want.
2 He hitteth the ball into the green outfield: he leadeth a rally in the eighth inning.
3 He restoreth my faith in New York: he leadeth the Yankees in the paths of victory for my pride’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Boston, I will fear no Red Sox fans: for thou art hitting well; thy bat and thy glove they comfort me.
5 Thou manufacturest a run before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou catchest the easy infield fly; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house that Ruth built forever.
Amen

So true.
What would be better?
I’ll tell you:
If the Red Sox were
to fall too.

That’s not schadenfreude. That’s just schaden.

This Minnesota Twins fan has to admit a touch of wicked pleasure in the downfall of the New York Hessians.
