Very, very true.
“You only love Jesus as much as you love the person you hate most.”
That sucks. As a conservative, and it being an election year, I can’t say I’m lovin’ John Kerry all that much, really.
Oh well.
I hear ya, NJ. We just have to remind ourselves that we “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, and powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places…”
You’re right, Ken. Thanks.
You have to love everybody, but that doesn’t mean you have to like them…
Amen (to the original post, not the replies).
“You have to love everybody, but that doesn’t mean you have to like them…”
Exactly. To love everyone doesn’t mean that you must have warm, fuzzy feelings for them. It means that you pray for them, try to be patient with them, and treat them as you would want to be treated.
True, but depressing thought. When I think of thepeople I don’t like, and how I struggle to have any love for them at all… I guess I don’t love my Saviour as much as I thought. :-(
You should see the movie
“House of Sand and Fog” (stars Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connolley)
for a demonstration of loving the person you hate the most right up to the tragic end.
