Sorrow

In your kindness please pray today for the repose of the soul of Elsie Fay (Browning) Chonak, my own dear mother, who passed away Monday afternoon, December 15, during an operation. She was born in 1930 and was baptized in 1997. May the Lord who rewards the workers of the late hour bring her to Himself in everlasting life.

  1. When I read the Office of the Dead this week, I’ll make a special petition in her name.
God bless RC. Our prayers are with you.

  2. I’ll pray for her in my nightly prayers tonight. And for the rest of her family as well. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand.

  3. I will keep her in my private prayers, Richard, and my family will remember her tonight as we pray. May Christ receive her into his presence.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss, Richard. My daily prayers and tonight’s rosary will be for your dear Mother and you and your family.

  5. RC, my deepest condolences for your loss. I will remember your mother in my prayers and write her name in the book of intentions for Masses here at St. Charles.

  6. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in peace.
I hope that you and the rest of your family are also doing as well as can be expected. May God also have mercy on her physicians and nurses – having been present in the OR when an unexpected death occurs, I know that they are probably also in a state of shock. One never expects to lose a patient, no matter how ominous the circumstances.

  7. R.C., my deepest sympathies are with you and your family. Such a loss is almost unbearable, but coming at this time of year makes it even more so. Your mother will be in my prayer intentions for my daily rosary. Take comfort in the fact that her spirit lives on in those she touched during her time on Earth, not the least of whom being you.
