Actually, I didn’t mind the big net so much.
I must plug the cathedral’s Schola, conducted by a friend and former colleague. If you’re in town and want to hear polyphony in a space with a 7-8 second reverb plus one of the best organs in town, this is the place to go.
It’s nice to hear of a beautiful old cathedral being RESTORED, not REDECORATED to fit modern trends and fads. The final results look terrific! Truly a “House of God”.
