The compassionate liberal journalist

For the past month or so, it seems that two new questions have arisen among LC/RC supporters who remain committed the cause: Why are Catholics tearing each other apart over LC/RC? Why can't we be more charitable toward each other?

From the perspective of current LC/RC supporter, 'charity' appears to be euphemism for "Stop criticizing our movement!" To which critics of LC/RC respond with a point illustrated by the following parable:

The compassionate liberal journalist

A certain teenaged seminarian went across the ocean from Mexico to Spain, and fell among a priest in league with the devil, who stripped the boy of his cassock, molested him, and departed, leaving the boy spiritually and emotionally wounded.

And by chance there came down a certain priest, a friend of the other priest, that way. And this priest saw the boy, threatened the boy with a lawsuit when he cried for help, and passed by on the other side.

And likewise a consecrated, when she was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side while calling out "Liar! Liar! Enemy of the priesthood!"

But a certain liberal journalist, as he journeyed, came to where the wounded boy lay. And when he saw him, the liberal journalist had compassion on the boy. He went to him, bound up his wounds, and allowed the boy to tell his story. He searched the ditches to find other boys who had been wounded by the priest and left for dead.

Then the liberal journalist set these boys on his own wagon, and brought them to an inn, and called in a doctor to help take care of the boys. And on the morrow when the the liberal journalist departed, he took the check from his last assignment, gave them to the doctor and said unto him, "Take care of these boys; and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you."

Which now of these three, do you think, showed Christian charity to the seminarians who had fallen in with a bad priest?

I wanna be the innkeeper! :)

Thank you, that was very profound.
