Turducken
But it sounds sort of tasty… has anyone tried this concoction?

  1. Mmmmm…triple bird flu….but seriously folks.
    I think I saw chef Paul P show off this recipe on TV a few years back. (is eating things like this the reason he drives around in a Lil’ Rascal scooter?)
    As far as juicy birds…I got a tip from a chef friend. He had T-giving dinner at a Haitian buddy’s house in Boston once. They stuffed the turkey w/ lemons and garlic and orange and onion.
    I adapted it to my roast chicken recipe. I usually use heads of garlic and a lemon chopped up. Maybe onion chunks. It provides good moisture for the white meat. And kosher salt the outside like crazy. Crisps up the skin lockin’ in all that love. Nice.

  2. If the turducken is a three-fer, I guess the Monte Cristo sandwich tops it with four animal species in one dish: turkey and ham with cheese (dairy!) within bread, dipped in egg.

  3. We had a turducken at Thanksgiving in 1999 (in fact there’s a small picture of it being carved by my brother on our web site, under the “Fall Fun” link for 1999.
    It was quite delicious, but it is a bit pricey.

  4. RC – how about stuffing a Monte Christo sandwich inside of a Turducken.
