I would like to find a statue of St. Lawrence to put in my kitchen. I’m going to carve a small niche out of the wall for him, and perhaps also flowers and/or another statue. Anyone know where I can get one? This is the only one I can find, and it’s pretty good, but a little small (2.5″).

I checked with a friend who sells religious goods; she replies that it’s hard to find a statue of any saint “who’s not in the Top 10” (Holy Family, St Jude, St. Theresa, etc.)
It’s not a statue, but an Icon, but Monastery Icons catalogue has St. Lawrence available……

What’s weird about them? Their St. Lawrence icon looks fine to me.
They’re a sect of syncretists who carry out Orthodox rituals with precision but believe in reincarnation and other Hindu stuff. The term they actually used for themselves was “Gnostic Orthodox”.
They’ve moved around the country from Nebraska to Oklahoma to California — or was it Oklahoma first? Anyway, while there, they came to the attention of a more ordinary Orthodox priest whose cautionary note is still on the net.
Eric, I found a beautiful statue of San Lorenzo and it is exactly 30 cm and made of wood with a huge grill. I will send you pictures later this evening when I get home!
