  1. What’s striking about Bishop Vasa’s letter is that it shows charity and respect for all involved, yet firmly puts the spiritual welfare of his flock above all else. That emphasis is truly pastoral, and indicates that Bp. Vasa understands that a bishop is first and foremost a spiritual father who is to lay down his life for his family.
    I hope that his tenure will be marked by actions that match these excellent and encouraging words! I’ve read that Bp. Vasa was a higher-up in Bruskewitz’s chancery before being appointed to Baker City, which is a good sign.
