“…genuine inculturation has nothing to do with the product of the over-fertile imagination of an enthusiastic priest who concocts something on Saturday night and inflicts it on the innocent Sunday morning congregation now being used as a guinea pig.”
The text of the Cardinal’s address is at EWTN.

hear, hear!
Wait – that’s a great idea! I’ll bring a Guinea Pig to Mass and let it run around on the altar during the penitential rite, symbolization our choatic, disorder, sinful nature. And during the Gloria, I’ll put it in it’s cage and place the cage under the altar. Then I’ll invite the small children up during the communion rite so they can be around the altar, and near the Guinea Pig.
I AM A GENIUS!!!!
Oh, my gosh…I’m forwarding this to my choir directors!
Why is “The Mississippi Squirrel Revival” by Ray Stevens suddenly coming to mind?
I love that man.
John, when you’re through with liturgical innovations, you can turn your attention to Education Fads and make some real cash!!
(Remember open classrooms? Whole Language? The newest fad is the Professional Learning Community, about which more later if I have the stomach for it!)
