“It is St. Joseph who cures. I am only his little dog.”
Alfred (Brother André) Bessette served for 40 years as the porter at the Holy Cross brothers’ school in Montreal, while he worked to build a shrine across the street in honor of St. Joseph. He even went so far as to leave St. Joseph’s statue out in the rain until the Saint himself would provide the funds for a roof. St. Joseph came through.

I’ve asked websites of Protestant Fundamentalists, EWTN and even of Judaism about this but I have received no response. What is the justification for the genocide committed by the Israelites under the generalship of Joshua against various Canaanite peoples? The chief justification is of course that it was God’s command. But for me that is not enough. God made us rational and we deserve an explanation. This question exercises me because it was the justification used by those who instigated pogroms and the Nazi holocaust.
